“Last year I was put forward by the college to attend England netball colleges trial, of which I was successful and was selected for the 1st team! The cost of this was £500 for taking part, plus travel costs (which included a flight to Northern Ireland). The £200 that college put forward was used to help pay for some of the costs, with my parents paying the rest. During this experience, I gained a lot more knowledge and played against national teams such as Scotland and Northern Ireland, England universities team and the North East Pathway team. All of which were older age groups! To add to this amazing experience, I gained the coaches player award for the first team for that year, of which I was super proud of!”

“In October 2022, I was chosen to compete in the U17 NEVZA Championships in Denmark and I was also selected to play up for the Under 19 category which was held in Finland. The College’s financial support went towards the cost of the trip which included accommodation flights and entry price. During this time, I was competing I played against the top teams from Denmark, Sweden, Faroe Islands, Norway Iceland and more. Overall, it was a great experience for the whole team. We narrowly missed out on silverware, but it was a crucial part of my volleyball journey”

"Last year I was selected to run for Greater Manchester in the English Schools Cross country, the cost at which would be £100 including travel and kit. When I told my sport teacher Graham, he said that the college would be able to fund it for me. My teachers were really supportive of me, and the money was extremely helpful, as it meant I was able to spend the money I was going to use on it on some new spikes for the event. Being able to take part in this helped me gain experience in running at a high level and I think it has given me more confidence in races which are at a high standard, so I am really grateful for the support that the College showed me"
