When is results day this summer?
Thursday 15th August – from 8.30am
All level 3 qualifications, including:
- A level
- BTEC (Unit results and overall grades)
- EPQ
- Criminology (both year groups)
- CACHE Health & Social Care & Childcare
- T levels
- Core Maths
Thursday 22nd August – from 8.30am
All level 2 qualifications, including:
- GCSE
All results slips will be released via students' college email accounts
Due to data protection, we cannot issue results to an alternative email address or to anyone other than the student. We strongly advise students to check that they can access their email account before results day, in case of any problems including forgotten passwords.
If you are a student having problems accessing your results:
Complete the following steps:
1. Check your college email including your ‘junk’ folder
2. If there is still no sign of your results slip, please wait until 09:00 and then email the exams team on resultsqueries@asfc.ac.uk with details of your full name, date of birth and the results you are expecting. As there are large numbers of students receiving results, not all emails may arrive at exactly 08:30.
3. If you do not have access to your college email, request a password reset via main reception (0161 330 2330) and try logging on again after 1 hour.
Help and frequently asked questions:
I cannot access my college e-mail account. Who do I contact?
From Monday 5th August onwards, you can contact college on 0161 330 2330 for IT staff to re-set your password. You will need to answer security questions to re-set your account. Once security is cleared, you will be issued with a new password. There will be a delay of approximately 1 hour while your re-set request processes. This is why you should check your access before results day!
I can access my college e-mails, but I cannot find my results slip. What should I do?
Are you looking on the right day/time? Check the information above.
Then, check your ‘junk’ folder.
If the email containing your results is found in ‘junk’, you need to move this to your inbox to view your results slip attachment (you may need to close your e-mails down and start again if accessing via a mobile device).
If you have checked all the above and there is no email, wait until 9.00 am and then contact resultsqueries@asfc.ac.uk using your college email address and confirming:
Full name;
DOB;
Subjects you are expecting results for.
We will provide more advice ASAP.
Results – what are the next steps if things haven't gone to plan?
We hope you will be happy with your results, and all your hard work was worthwhile. But, if you have not received the grades you were expecting and have missed out on a university place or apprenticeship etc., we can help. Read the advice below for more information - IMPORTANT: a link to more UCAS advice is provided at the very bottom of this page.
Are teachers in college around results days?
No, as results are released in the summer holidays, teaching staff are not expected in college. They are also unlikely to be reading their emails. But, a core number of staff are available in college to provide careers advice/clearing assistance (scroll straight down to the bottom of this page and click the UCAS advice link) and to discuss post result services.
Are Exams staff available?
Yes, the exams team will be happy to advise you about post results services (reviews of marking etc.) Priority will be given to students who have lost a university place, an apprenticeship or a job offer due to their results.

Is information about grade boundaries available?
- A level grade boundary information will be updated here (including Criminology and EPQ) on Results day.
- BTEC exam grade boundary information will be updated here on Results day. (only published for individual units and not overall qualification)
- GCSE and transition course grade boundary information will be published here on Results day.
Not all qualifications have grade boundary information which is easy to publish in a single document - see your teacher once college reopens for information about T level and NCFE/Cache qualification information.
Are there re-sit opportunities?
Students progressing into their second year:
If you have just received results at the end of your first year and are now continuing into the second year, you can apply to re-sit the following exams:
- BTEC exam/set task units
- GCSE Maths
- GCSE English
- Criminology unit 2
More information will be provided via your teachers and on Canvas once you are back in college.
Leavers who have completed 2 years at college:
If you have just completed your second year at ASFC, it is, unfortunately, not possible for us to offer re-sits to improve your overall grade in any of our qualifications. Please contact our careers team if you need help and/or advice about your options with the grades you have achieved.
When can I collect my certificates?
Your certificates won’t arrive into college until late in the autumn term. You will be able to collect them at main reception from January. We will publish the availability of certificates for collection via college’s social media accounts, so please check regularly from end-November. College does not have the capacity to store your certificates long-term, so any certificates that aren’t collected within 12 months (ie, by the end of the second January after your summer leaving date) will be destroyed. Replacements can then be ordered via individual exam boards and they will charge a fee to provide that service.
Universities understand that you won't have certificates when you enroll with them. We suggest that you use a print out of your results slip if they need confirmation of your results.
