The Film Industry is constantly changing and capturing the world’s imagination. You will have the opportunity to analyse some of the most influential films and art pieces from past decades, exploring the world of cinema by analysing ground breaking films from past to present, such as Pulp Fiction and Trainspotting.

You will have a passion for Film as the course deals with textual, theoretical, historical and critical approaches. You will look at how Film is constructed and utilise many of the same analytical skills required by English Literature. This course also explores the role of the spectator and the psychology behind audience response. You will look at a diverse range of films from classic Hollywood cinema such as Vertigo, to new Hollywood, with challenging films from directors such as Danny Boyle and Quentin Tarantino.

Your creative and practical skills will be developed through the coursework element of the course, which will require you to create a short film or a script and storyboard. Enrichment opportunities are available which have previously included visiting film/TV sets and mentoring by industry professionals.
