Ashton Sixth Form College Citizenship group have organised a sponsored fun run this Sunday the 21st of October, 10am at Dovestone Reservoir, Saddleworth.

Following the success of last year’s fun run, on behalf of Ugandaid, we are holding another 5k fun run event. Everyone had a great time last year and we raised over £700 which made an amazing impact on the village project work in Uganda. We were able to contribute funds towards the building of pit latrines for a disabled man and an old lady and support the construction of a house for a young woman bringing up a family of five children alone.  

Over 50 people have now signed-up to take part and raise funds for the UgandAid charity, all of the money collected in registration fees will be taken out to Uganda in February by staff and students from ASFC and spent on really worthwhile projects such as education and housing. It really will make a huge difference.

Students and staff are able to give cash donations but we have also set up a Justgiving site where anyone can log on and make a contribution. www.justgiving.com/AshtonSixthForm

 You can also donate in a really simple way by sending a free text to this number- 70070 and typing the message ASFC99. You will then receive a free text from Vodafone asking how much you wish to give (up to a maximum of £10).

This will be a great event and we hope to smash last year’s fundraising total with a target this year of £1000!!!

The run will take place at Dovestone Reservoir in Greenfield, Saddleworth –meeting at 10am.
