Our recent Path Your Future event was a fun and interactive day for year 9 and 10 pupils and their parents which aimed to increase the awareness of career options, HE opportunities, college and university terminology and decision making.

Parents and pupils were able to find out more about the following areas;

• STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
• Healthcare and the NHS
• Business and Finance
• The Arts (Digital Media, Visual Media and Performing Arts)
• Education and Childcare
• The Professions (i.e. Medicine, Law, Teaching, Architecture, Veterinary Science, Journalism)
• Public Services
• Sport and Leisure

Each of the above sectors had its own designated area within college. Within each area there will be demonstrations and rolling talks. Parents and pupils also had the opportunity to visit a careers fair.

The event also featured a rolling programme of talks on the following subjects;

• What is Higher Education – HE in the UK, Student Finance, Benefits of HE
• General Pathways
• Apprenticeships – focusing on Higher Apprenticeships
• Making choices and decision making

The event was a huge success, and we would just like to say thanks all of our contributors for their time and effort.
