James Haggerty Honoured by Georges Award
25 June 2015
Head of the department, Stephanie Vicario-Bell, presented the award and said:
"James was known to us in Creative Digital Arts as 'Hagdog', following a lesson where he wanted to send an email to a potential employer from an email account where this was his address.
James was Creative Digital Arts, he was a loyal friend and respected his teachers, although he wasn't too fond of the written work.
He took his skills and put them to good use, setting up his brand Urban Chess, taking college equipment to Ibiza to work with artists, organising a demonstration for Youth against Riots, and going to Uganda to build communities and make a film Stick in the Ground.
James is a student we will never forget and is always a part of the department.
We give this award to students that go above and beyond, that give back to the community and use their skills and talent outside of their course. Students who will always be a part of the department."
Emman accepted the award and stated that he is 'very thankful to the media department. This award is supposed to celebrate my achievments but it is also a reflection of the investment the department puts in us to achieve great things".
