Economics Students Rule the Stock Market at Manchester University

2 July 2015

40 teams from various local sixth forms took part in The Investment Challenge yesterday at Manchester University. The challenge is a simulated global stock market game where students have to use their knowledge of economics to assess and analyse the impact of external changes in the business environment on specific businesses and commodities and their share prices. They use this information to decide whether to buy or sell shares. The team who makes the most profit wins the challenge.

George Flanagan and Kyle McQuillan came joint first! Out of the remaining 9 teams we entered, 7 of those teams came in the top 10 out of 40 and all 10 of our teams were in the top 15.

Well done team ASFC for a all round brilliant result!
