#AshtonTalks launched with guest speaker Michael Pettyt, Director of Tracks and Layers, a motion graphics and visual effects company. He spoke to BTEC Media Production students about his experiences in the creative industry.

At A-Level, Michael studied Media, Maths, Product Design and Computing at A-Level. Now, he's the Director of his own company based in Media City with plans to grow his team and his client list. He says that his A-Level choices,

"made a great mix for getting in to an evolving industry that was increasingly reliant on people with not only a creative eye but also good technical knowledge and problem solving skills."

Michael works,

"with a growing list of broadcast and commercial clients including: BBC, Channel 4, Sky, MUTV, Liverpool FC TV, Smooth FM, Total Warrior an many more."
