Olympic Parade 2016: Our Public Services Students Volunteer

17 October 2016

Great Britain came 2nd in both the Olympic and Paralympic games. 67 medals in the Olympics and an astonishing 147 in the Paralympics. ASFC Public Services students, Liana and Katie, had the honour of serving at the Olympic Parade on Monday as GMP Police Cadets.

Marshaling the roads and controlling pedestrian crossings for a total of 7 hours in the wonderful Manchester weather, the girls played an important role in the Olympic Parade.
Liana said, "I saw Jess Ennis-Hill but was disappointed that I didn’t see Tom Daley!" They also spotted the Police Marksman on the top of the Printworks!

A fantastic event and we are extremely proud of our Public Services students who took part.
