Luke McCormick and Ashley Hutchinson both visited Ashton Sixth Form College as part of our Imagine Your Future programme to share their own experience of gaining a place with one of the top Accountancy firms in the UK. Both students secured a place on the highly competitive Grant Thorton school leaver accountancy programme in September 2016 after completing their A Levels. 

Both students, from Wright Robinson Sports College, undertook a tough selection process where they competed with other students from across the North West for a place on the prestigious programme with Grant Thornton. Both did exceptionally well and were two of only eight students from the North West to be selected and offered employment with the firm. After four years of training with Grant Thornton, the students will be fully qualified Accountants.

Luke and Ashley both said about the event, “Its really great to come back to Ashton Sixth Form to speak with the next generation of accountants and to give something back to the college that encouraged us to apply for this programme. We hope that our exerience will inspire current students to go for it and consider the Grant Thornton school leaver programme as an alternative to Higher Education".
