At Ashton Sixth Form College, student's gain countless opportunities throughout the year to think about their future after college. The English Department at the college put on a university webinar, in collaboration with Realising Aspirations. 

The webinar allowed students to speak directly to 3 universities: Reading, Bristol and Sheffield. Each of these universities is in the Top 40 for English courses (Complete Uni Guide, July 2017). Being situated quite a distance from Manchester, students could find out more about these universities before making a journey. 

Each university presented their offer of English courses and spoke about what studying an English degree at that particular university was like. Students then had the opportunity to ask a range of questions from Finance to Entry Requirements to Bursaries to Accommodation. 

Ashton Sixth Form College students could also ask specific degree-related questions on modules and works studied, allowing them to gain a real understanding of university life and how they can go on to specialise further in their chose subjects after A-Levels.
