As part of Key 103's Superhero Day 2018, Ashton Sixth Form College raised money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Led by the Student Council, the bake sale raised over £400 for an incredible cause. The bake sale included cakes, doughnuts, cookies and sweet treats with a superhero theme. Others also dressed up in Superhero outfits to raise awareness and money for the cause. The college welcomed Carol Carr, Local Fundraising Co-ordinator for the North West, to present the cheque to Teenage Cancer Trust.

Teenage Cancer Trust state,

"Around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK."

The Trust provides young people with specialised nursing support and care. Through specialist cancer care units, expert staff who provide care and teams who raise awareness, Teenage Cancer Trust work across the UK. Currently, they "can only help half of young people diagnosed with cancer" (teenagecancertrust.org).
