Netball Winners, Men's Football Draw, Rugby Training and Basketball Game
Wednesday is a huge day for sport at Ashton Sixth Form College and last week was no different.
Year on year, the college's sport enrichment offer has been growing and expanding to host more sports in more competitions than ever before. On Wednesday alone, students took part in four sports across four leagues/competitions.
The women's netball team played their first game of the season away at Aquinas College in Manchester. They played incredibly well winning the game 23-30. This particular netball team is newly created this year and is already showing signs of great promise.
On the football fields the men's second team faced Darwen Aldridge Community Academy from Blackburn drawing 3-3. The second team have maintained their unbeaten run continuing on from the last two years.
The Manchester City Football Coaching team drew 6-6 against Cheadle.
In the Sports Hall, the Men's basketball team faced Aquinas College. Despite a strong performance from Ashton, last years runners up, took home the win 37-68.
After a very busy day, rugby training also continued with Team England. The college's newly established partnership with Team England Rugby gives students access to highly qualified and experienced coaches.
Currently, Ashton competitively offers Men's Football, Women's Football, Rugby, Netball and Basketball and are looking forward to the next year of successes.
