Public Services students ran a tremendous 5K in aid of the Francis House Children's Hospice. 

Students are currently studying a full-time vocational course in Public Services. As part of their unit, they are required to organise an event. They develop their skills in leadership, time management and teamwork. 

Public Services students decided to challenge themselves while also raising money for an incredible cause. 

Despite the class being made up of different athletic abilities and interests including some non-runners, the team decided to run a 5K. Their chosen charity was the Francis House Children's Hospice based in Manchester. The local charity can support around 2,000 people at any one time 

We provide high levels of clinical care to the families of children and young adults with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. (www.francishouse.org.uk)

As a true testament to their teamwork, some students even helped each other make it over the finish line resulting in one of the loudest cheers across the line. 

The student's hard work has paid off as they exceed their original target of £100. The run has now raised over £250 and the fundraising is still on-going.
