Representatives from the British Army visited Public Services students. 

Students at Ashton Sixth Form College are currently studying a full-time vocational course in Public Services. Throughout their course they are gaining an in-depth understanding of the uniformed public services. Many of these students will progress on to careers within the sector.

The visit from the British Army allowed them to learn firsthand, about the range of opportunities that are available to them in the armed forces. They also learnt about the various ways the armed forces form part of our modern day society and how they are both affected and influence government, policies, leadership, conflict and society.

Students are currently exploring the UK government and the ways in which society is organised. They were able to ask questions about the topics they are learning and gain an understanding directly from a military perspective.

The Sport and Public Services department regularly welcome guest speakers from across a range of service sectors including the Police, the Fire Service and the Government.
