Coronavirus response update - 11.06.20
Coronavirus response update 11th June 2020
I hope this finds you and your family safe and well.
A few updates:
This week is Bike Week in the UK. The purpose of this week is to raise awareness of the health and environmental benefits of cycling as part of your everyday life. More information can be found at https://www.cyclinguk.org/bikeweek. We are actively encouraging students to find new ways to travel to and from college, particularly at this time with the risks associated with the use of public transport. The college is investing in more bike storage facilities for the start of the new academic year, and we are working with Tameside Council to look at creating safe cycling routes to the college from different parts of Tameside.
Yesterday, we received confirmation that we have been shortlisted for three Sixth Form College Association Awards in the following categories:
- Social mobility
- Community impact
- Independent learning
The awards ceremony will take place online next Wednesday evening (17th June 2020). Fingers crossed!
All Centre Assessed Grades and rank orders for individual qualifications have now been agreed and these will be submitted by the deadline on Friday this week. Could I remind parents not to enquire about Centre Assessed Grades nor rank order positions? Ofqual have made it clear that this would constitute examination malpractice and may lead to a sanction for the examination candidate. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
That’s all for today.
Take care, look after yourself, your families and each other; be patient and stay positive.
Anton
