Start of the academic year - September 2020
Thank you for your patience over the past week, whilst we finalise the arrangements for the start of the academic year. With the new arrangements needed for blended learning, timetabling has taken a little longer than expected, but we are now able to confirm some dates for your next steps to returning to education.
Timetables
You will receive notification by the end of the day on Monday 7th September that your timetable is now ready to view, and confirmation of whether you are part of the Week A cohort or Week B.
Please note that timetables have been very carefully balanced to allow for the current restrictions on class sizes. Once you have been allocated to a group, you will not be able to swap unless there is an error on your timetable such as lessons missing, clashes or incorrect subjects.
If there is an error on your timetable, a timetable clinic will be held on Tuesday 8th September from 10.00am to 12.00pm. You will need to attend in person and you will be able to see a member of staff who will resolve any errors for you.
New students starting college (first year students and L2)
Subject Induction – Vocational programmes
If you are in Week A cohort, you will need to attend your subject induction on Friday 11th September 2020 in the morning (9.00am to 12.00pm).
If you are in Week B cohort, you will need to attend your subject induction on Friday 11th September 2020 in the afternoon (1.00pm to 4.00pm).
You will receive notification by email of where to go on arrival.
Subject Induction – A-Level and Mixed Study programmes
If you are in Week A cohort, you will need to attend your subject induction on Monday 14th September 2020.
If you are in Week B cohort, you will need to attend your subject induction on Tuesday 15th September 2020.
On your subject induction day, you will follow your normal timetabled lessons for that day, except for any scheduled Tutorial or GCSE classes which will not take place until classes begin.
Your subject teachers will discuss plans for the year, including arrangements for assessment and support, and will set work for you during this session.

A2 Day
If you are in Week A cohort, you will need to attend your A2 Day on Wednesday 9th September.
If you are in Week B cohort, you will need to attend your A2 Day on Thursday 10th September.
You will follow your timetable for your classes as normal on this day. You do not need to attend your tutorial or GCSE classes on the A2 day (these will begin from 16th September).
Classes begin
Full teaching will begin for all students on Wednesday 16th September 2020 with Week A cohort in college, and Week B cohort accessing classes from home.
Please note your attendance will be registered whether you are attending the lesson in person or online.
