Applied Science attend lecture on research and hearing in teens

19 November 2021

Students studying Applied Science attended a lecture on Friday.

The lecture explored the importance of research in science and the range of research that is conducted on a daily basis.

Dr Hannah Guest from the Human Communication, Development & Hearing at the University of Manchester led the lecture.

In particular, the lecture also focussed on the 'Hearing in Teens' research study. The study is a world-leading piece of auditory science, following 220 teens from 16 to 19, testing their hearing using state-of-the-art measures as they start regularly going to gigs and clubs. Applied Science students had the opportunity to be involved in this research afterwards.
