Politics Students chat with Angela Rayner
Our A1 Politics students had a virtual Q&A with Deputy Leader of the Labour party and MP for Ashton-Under-Lyne, Angela Rayner!
Angela left school without any qualifications, but has managed to climb her way to success with the Labour Party. Angela has been to visit the college a number of times. This occasion was a virtual chat with first year students, through The Politics Project.
Angela spoke about her career journey and discussed the struggles of being a woman from a working class background in the politics industry. She answered all the students' interesting questions, with topics including air pollution, the current Ukraine crisis and Angela's role as Deputy Leader!
The Q&A was really informative and motivating for our first year students and the Humanities department was really excited to have another unique opportunity to speak to Angela and gain an insight on her role in today's politics!
