Former student wins Bronze medal!

Former student, Jack Wilson has recently competed in his first adult karate competition and was awarded Bronze! 

 

Jack was one of the youngest competitors in the Paris Open Karate Championship 2022 and became the first English competitor to win a medal in the karate sector since 2007. Jack went to Mossley Hollins High School, then did his A Levels here at Ashton and is currently delaying going to university to focus on his karate.

 

As well as working part time as a junior marketing assistant at a local company, he is a member of the Copley Tameside Karate Club, where he has been coached and been training at since he was nine years old. Jack's success in the Paris Championship is just the first step for the 18 year old, he is planning to compete worldwide in the World Karate Federations's 1-Series in places like, Austria, Egypt and China. He has also scheduled in some open competitions in Poland and Germany!

 

Jack is doing amazing post Ashton and we wish him every success in his Karate journey!
