Geography university progression
Rory Tyler, Sam Seaborn and James Poff are three of our A2 students who have received an OxBridge offer this year, to study Geography.
Each of them enjoyed Geography at GCSE, which ultimately progressed into them studying the course at A Level. However, both Sam and James had originally chose different courses and swapped over to Geography shortly before they enrolled in Sixth Form, back in 2020.
Despite having a disjointed time a college, because of lockdowns and Covid resitrctions, the three have excelled with their studies, with their predicted grades being A* and A's.
Their teacher, Matthew Perriss, whom also studied Geography at The University of Oxford, said:
"To be offered a place to study Geography at the UK's world-leading institutes is both a remarkable achievement and a testament to the diligence of these superb students. Not to mention their ability which is equally impressive. Their hard work has taken them to the portal of both Oxford and Cambridge. Rightly both the College and Geography department are deeply proud of their accomplishments."
Rory, from West Hill School, has received an offer for Oxford, in Hertford College.
Sam, from St Thomas More, has received an offer for Oxford, in Regent's Park College.
James, also from St Thomas More, has received an offer for Cambridge, in Fitzwilliam College.
The three are currently working exceptionally hard to ensure they get the grades they require - A*AA - for their offers to be accepted later this year. Each of the students are the first in their families to receive an offer from Oxford or Cambridge, which is an incredible achievement!
It's extremely special for the Geography department for three of their students to be offer holders at such prestigious Universities. We wish each of the boys every success in their studies and upcoming exams!
