Art students visit The Courtauld Gallery.
Over the course of the last two years ASFC Art & Design students have been participating in the Courtauld Alumni Career Project consisting of online workshops, webinars and most recently, culminating in a prestigious, all expenses paid, gallery and learning centre visit to Somerset House, home of the Courtauld Institute of Art, the world leading centre for the study of History of Art, Conservation and Curating.
20 of our Art & Design students - consisting of both A Level and HE Art Foundation students) - spent a day in London immersed in a range of workshop activities exploring aspects of curating, exhibition design, interpretation and communication.
The event was introduced by the new assistant curator of Tate Britain followed by exclusive access to the current Van Gogh Portrait exhibition and the Courtald's remarkable and electric private art collection.
All the students were amazing throughout the trip, as was their participation and level of engagement which culminated in impressive group presentations of their own curated shows back to the Courtauld alumni.
Head of department, Malcom said:
"All students were a credit to themselves, ASFC and should be congratulated for making this such a memorable and fabulous occasion - well done guys!"
