A2 student, Rikin Mistry, has received 2 incredible progression offers - at PwC and KPMG!

Rikin studies Accounting, Economics and Maths here at ASFC and is part of our XL programme. As his studies are coming to an end, Rikin has been exploring his options for post college. He was initially unsure on where to look for employment, so approached our dedicated careers and guidance team for help and advice. 

They helped him in seeking out the best places for accounting apprenticeships. Rikin ended up applying to accounting firms in the 'Big 4' and more. He took part in several intense interview processes, which included behavioural based assesments, numerical and literacy assessments, a formal interview and an experience day.

Leading up to these processes, Janet, our Employer Engagement & Partnerships Officer, worked with Rikin to prepare, including researching the different companies and discussing examples of interview questions and assessments.

Following these interview processes, Rikin has successfully received offers from PwC and KPMG - 2 Accountancy firms in the 'Big 4!

His offer with PwC is a sponsered degree with the University of Manchester - known as the flying start degree course. Rikin will be studying towards an accounting degree for 4 years, integrated with 12 weeks of paid placement with pwC. Once he finishes the 4 years, Rikin will have the option to work for the company full time and gain an ACA qualification (equivalent to a masters degree)

The KPMG offer is slightly different, as it is an audit apprenticeship, where he would train to become AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualified.

Rikin has accepted the offer with pwC, as long as he meets the entry requirements, and is keeping KPMG as his back up offer.

He is incredibly grateful for his teacher's and support staff's help and support during the process of applying and interviewing for these companies. He has recently also gotten through to the final stage with another firm, Grant Thornton - a company ranked 5th in the rankings for accounting firms.

Rikin said:

The college are extremely proud of Rikin's success in receiving these offers - it is an incredible achievement!
