To commemorate Remembrance Day, 3D Design students created metal poppies. The poppies were placed in the sculpture garden outside Geoff Higgins building.

The exhibition was based on the work of Paul Cumming and Tom Piper 'Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red' who filed the Tower of London's with 888,246 poppies to commemorate the sacrifice of each individual military fatality during WW1.

First year 3D Design students crafted a poppy from scratch out of sheet aluminium and steel using traditional tools. All 54 poppies were arranged in the new sculpture space, creating an enduring installation. Students adapted the usual scheme of work, which is making aluminium roses, to fit in with Remembrance Day.

The piece linked the college's Chaplaincy and Remembrance commemoration.
