Five Ashton Sixth Form College XL students receive Oxbridge offers
This year, five outstanding students from Ashton Sixth Form College have received offers to study at The University of Oxford and The University of Cambridge.
The students with offers are currently enrolled on the Ashton XL programme. The successful XL programme works with our high achieving students to support and challenge them, giving them the best possible chance to follow their ambitions through dedicated tutor groups, opportunities for further study, specialised trips and regular guest speakers.
Students who are seeking to attend Oxford and Cambridge take part in mock interviews, masterclasses and bespoke trips that prepare them for the process.
Ashton Sixth Form College has been a host of The Goldsmiths’ Sutherland Centre for Philosophy and World Religions in partnership with Pembroke College, University of Oxford for over ten years. The long standing partnership provides incredible opportunities for students, including the Oxnet Access Programme.
Centre Principal, Lisa Richards said:
I am delighted to see another year of excellent Oxbridge success. These five students will be joining the 20 ex-ASFC students currently studying at Oxford or Cambridge across a range of courses. Well done to them and to our staff and their families for supporting them. Other students across college are also receiving some fantastic offers from highly competitive universities and degree apprenticeship schemes. I am so proud of them all!
XL Manager, Damian Windle said:
This year was a very competitive year for applying Oxbridge and these offers represent the hard work and persistence that these students have put in as well as the excellence in teaching that ASFC brings. From Economics to Architecture, these students are a credit to themselves and demonstrates how the XL program supports them every step of the way.
