AS Geography students travelled to North Wales on a Geography field trip. 

The field trip took over 40 students over 110 miles west to Llanberis, Wales. As part of their course, Geography students are required to go on field trips allowing them to gain invaluable experience outside the classroom. Students gain many transferable skills in teamwork, responsibility and time management.

During the field trip, students explored rural rebranding and data collection methods, along with coastal erosion beginning with pebble data. Students gained real-world experience, working as part of a team to problem solve and analyse.

Geography connects people to the world around them. Students learn about the physical and cultural characteristics of a landscape, along with how human systems influence and are affect by their surroundings.

Those progressing on to Geography focussed careers experience practical aspects of the course through field trips. Students are able to gain a better understanding of the various aspects of Geography and the areas they wish to progress on to.

Geographers progress on to some of the most diverse range of career pathways, including Cartographers, Environmental Consultants, Teachers, Surveyors, Planners, Conservation, Tourism, Landscape Architects and Transport.
