College Chaplain Rev Jean Hurlston joined the college in 2006. She continues to be a well-known and valued member of staff and has done so for the past 11 years. 

Jean Hurlston has made history, being the first woman to become Borough Dean of Oldham. This Sunday, the Bishop of Middleton, the Rt Rev Mark Davies, commissioned Jean as the new Borough Dean of Oldham at a service at Oldham Parish Church. 

As well as managing the Chaplaincy situated in the heart of the college alongside the Peace Garden, Jean is also responsible for ensuring that people of all faiths and none have the ability to ask questions and create a community spirit at the college. Jean is often seen leading acts of Remembrance for the college staff and students, working with the Student Council and working with faith groups at the college such as the Christian Union. 

Jean's work extends far beyond the college, volunteering for a range of services including Oldham Street Angels, she helped form in 2011 and continues to co-ordinate. She also works at Tameside Hospital and Manchester Airport. 

The college is extremely proud to congratulate Jean on this incredible achievement.
