Performing Arts visit LIPA

31 January 2018

Performing Arts students visited the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts as part of the Realising Aspirations programme.

This particular trip took the entire Performing Arts department to LIPA, ranked 17th in the UK for Dance and Drama subject areas in the Guardian university league tables 2018.

Throughout the day, students explored the LIPA campus, visiting the range of facilities and opportunities available in their subject area. Students were able to meet and talk to current lecturers and teachers, as well as undergraduates, as they begin to consider what they are looking for in a higher education institution.

LIPA is a specialist university-level provider of world class learning for performers and those who make performance possible. As well as a campus tour, Performing Arts students also took part in subject taster sessions allowing them to try out their chosen subject area at a higher level.

The Realising Aspirations programme at Ashton Sixth Form College takes students across the country to some of the highest ranked institutions. The aim of the programme is to prepare students to make informed decisions about their next step after college, through trips, visits, guest seminars and lectures.
