Coming soon: Art and Design Building
This year sees the construction of Ashton Sixth Form College's brand new Art and Design building come to life.
Due to the increase in students studying Art-based subjects and the demand for new facilities growing each year, the Art and Design department will find a new home.
Working with GA Studio, a Manchester-based architecture practice, who have previously designed other facilities on campus including the Food Market, the Art and Design building has been designed specifically for its purpose. Students will find themselves working within a clean and modern environment, with innovative design surrounding them at every corner.
The building will house:
- 3D Design and Technology studio
- Heat treatment and ceramics room
- Fine Art studio
- Graphic Design studio suite
- Photography work room
- Photography studio
- Dark room
- Art Foundation studio
Along with the incredible Art facilities, the new building will also have an outdoor garden terrace to provide students with more inspiration than they could ever need. Spaces to display student work in a gallery-style format will allow others to visit the building and explore some of the masterpieces being created.
As an Art and Design space, the students will have the freedom to work creatively without boundaries.
