MBDA skills day with Uptree
Physics and Computing students took part in an innovative engineering skills workshop in Manchester. They made up a 50 strong cohort of students from across Greater Manchester.
Through the college's partnership with Uptree – a national professional network for students – students had the opportunity to link up face-to-face with employees and apprentices from MBDA. MBDA is a major European defence systems manufacturer with over 10,000 employees. They are based across the world in Spain, Italy, France, Germany, the US and the UK, with a local base situated in Bolton.
In addition to networking, students also took part in a range of activities including Myers-Briggs personality profiling, product pitching and writing a motivational statement.
Following this particular workshop, students will then be able to take part in a visit to MBDA’s Bolton factory as well as a range of other events and activities in the coming months.
Events such as this are an extremely exciting way for students to explore some of the most interesting career pathways.
The college consistently works to provide students with opportunities to stand out. They are able meet employers and fellow students who have similar passions while exploring alternative careers.
