Art Foundation megastructure installation
Art Foundation students recently built a megastructure installation which they then used to complete a shadow drawing.
Students on the Art Foundation Year course now have a studio to call their own in the brand new Art and Design building. They are the first student's to use the space which allows them the creative freedom to build their skills and attempt new projects, such as the installation.
The group worked together to collectively construct their first installation of the year. The installation represents the world as a tree of life being spoilt by all the objects we throw away. The clouds represent the "virtual network in the sky" and how the digital world intrudes on our lives.
Once the installation was complete students worked together to create a shadow drawing piece that covered the length of the studio wall, before carefully deconstructing the piece.
