£1600 raised for Tameside 4 Good by Education and Health

26 November 2019

Education and Health students have raised over £1,600 for their annual Christmas Toy Appeal.

Each year the department raises money for Tameside 4 Good, a local charity helping people across the borough. Their Christmas Toy Appeal in particular, helps young people celebrate the festive period who are under the age of 18 and are living poverty.

Students who are studying a vocational course in Child Care or Health and Social Care began their fundraising campaign with a day of fancy dress. Cat in the Hat, Mikey and Sully, Mickey and Minnie, and so many more characters took over the college to collect donations from students and staff.

Incredibly, students were able to raise £1,600 which is around £600 more than last years efforts - an amazing achievement.

The money was then used to purchase gifts and toys for a range of age groups. The huge amount of toys were then delivered to the charity and will later be distributed to children throughout the borough. Their donations and kindness will make a huge difference to the children who otherwise may not have received a gift this Christmas.
