House of Lords LIVE
Politics students took part in a LIVE Q&A session with the House of Lords.
Their Q&A session featured Lord McFall of Alcluith. Lord McFall, also known as John Francis McFall. Lord McFall became an MP in 1987 and remained in office until 2010. In 2016, Lord McFall became the Senior Deputy Speaker of the House of Lords, a role in which he still holds today.
During their A-Level course, Politics students look at UK government and politics. They explore democracy, electoral systems and parliament.
Speaking to a member of the House of Lords gave students a unique insight into how the system works. It also gave them a better understanding of the unique roles that come together to form Parliament and the sheer number of individuals that make key decisions on a daily basis.
