Former student wins Gold and Silver at the Commonwealth Games!

2 August 2022

Georgia Taylor-Brown is one our talented alumni, who studied Biology, PE and Psychology here at Ashton before progressing onto Leeds University.

Georgia's talent stretches further than just the North of England as she has competed in and won Silver at the Tokyo Olympics last year, has been awarded an MBE for her success, won gold in the revived World Triathlon Sprint Championships in Montréal and most recently achieved Gold and Silver at the Commonwealth Games 2022!

The triathlete won her Silver medal in the Individual Triathlon, with her Gold medal from winning the mixed relay Triathlon. The team which also included Alex Lee, Sam Dickinson and Sophie Coldwell did incredibly and brought home the gold medal for Great Britain. Georgia finished her portion of the triathlon in 1:16:40.

Georgia is Great Britain's most successful female Olympic triathlete and along with Alex Lee, the most successful Olympic triathlete at a single Games.

It's amazing to see our alumni being extremely successful, it is well deserved. Well Done Georgia!
