Ashton Sixth Form College host multi-sports Panathlon event!
Ashton Sixth Form College were recently the host for the multi-sports Panathlon event!
Panathlon is a national country which gives young people with disabilities and special educational needs the opportunity to take part in competitive sport. 9 primary schools from the Tameside borough participated in the multi-sports event, with Ashton Sixth Form College students volunteering as the leaders of the event.
The schools who attended were, Canon Burrows C of E Primary School, Inspire Academy Ashton, Manchester Road Primary Academy, Micklehurst All Saints CE Primary School, Broadbent Fold Primary School, Yew Tree Primary School, St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Greswell Primary School and Greenside Primary School.
The day was a great success, with all students having the opportunity to get involved in various sports activities, make new friends with fellow primary schools and most importantly, have fun!
Everyone was awarded a medal and certificate for participating, and the winner of the day was Greenside Primary School who will now go on to represent Tameside in the Greater Manchester Panathlon event!
