Apprenticeship success for former student
Gabby Brander, from Rayner Stephens High School, studied full-time Health and Social Care at Ashton Sixth Form College before leaving in 2023.
Whilst at college, Gabby explored the various opportunities and progress routes available to her, including university, apprenticeships and employment. Gabby worked with our Careers team to choose her plans post-college and applied for an apprenticeship with Pennine Care as a Trainee Nursing Associate.
Gabby successfully secured the apprenticeship and is now working for Pennine Care NHS. She recently visited us during National Apprenticeship Week to speak to students about her journey of securing the apprenticeship and also what it is like to be an apprentice for the NHS.
Gabby is really enjoying her new role within Pennine Care. She works with patients with Mental Health and Learning issues and rotates every sixth months into a new placement. At the end of the apprenticeship, Gabby will have achieved a Nursing Associate Foundation Degree.
We wish Gabby the best of luck in the rest of her apprenticeship.
