SFCA Award runners-up for 'independent learning'
Ashton Sixth Form College was recently shortlisted for a Sixth Form Colleges Association (SFCA) Award at the SFCA Summer Conference 2018.
Prinicipal Anton McGrath attended the ceremony and accepted the runners up prize for 'independent learning'. This year, the conference was held in Nottingham at the East Midland Conference Centre. The SFCA is the voice of the sixth forms - connecting education providers to network, improve and learn from one another.
The SFCA recognised the outstanding work of Ashton Sixth Form College in creating an environment for students that encourages independent learning. The work of the college has been highlighted as best preparing young people for their futures and commended the staff who also supporting this process. The Association noted that the "award particularly impressed the judges" and as a result was put "in the top 3 for that category".
Principal Anton McGrath said he was,
"proud to come in as a runner up at the SFCA awards this year, for our work on independent learning."
